How will a power outage affect my my stairlift?

All lifts we carry run on battery power. When the stairlift is in its parked position it charges between rides. But what happens during an outage?

Your fully charged batteries should get approximately 10 rides if you power is out.

Our Power Outage Protocol
Turn off the power button to stop the beeping (this beeping indicates your batteries are not getting a charge) Turn on the power when you want to ride and turn off again after use. This will preserve as much power as possible for your power outage rides. When the power is restored, turn the power button back on and ALWAYS keep it on. The battery will not charge if the power button is off.

Important note: The charger will not charge a dead battery. If your battery goes below 5 Volts, the charger doesn't see a battery and will not provide charging current. If the battery is completely dead, new batteries are recommended, or the batteries must be removed and put on a separate external charger (car or trickle charger)
